Finding the one

It is almost 13 years since me and husband started dating. I wrote a post for our 12 years anniversary last year but it seems like only yesterday.

Phil is my best friend, the love of my life. I couldn’t imagine doing this with anyone else. Don’t get me wrong, we are far from perfect, we argue at times but honestly I feel so lucky every day that he is mine. He is my biggest fan, I was so nervous starting a blog but he encouraged me from day one. He reads all my blog posts before I publish them (my grammar is shocking!) and he helps me with pictures and technical stuff. I remember last Christmas, as a surprise, he moved my blog to self hosted and bought me my very own laptop – seriously how is that for a supportive husband?

Our relationship grew even stronger since he became a father – he would do anything for our girls. I remember on holiday last year we went to Spain and spent the day on the beach – it was boiling hot, too hot and the girls were getting grumpy. To make matters worse, we hadn’t taken buckets and spades with us as we thought we could buy them there but unfortunately there were no shops. My husband decided to go see if he could find some – he was gone for ages in the boiling heat but there was no doubt in my mind that he wouldn’t find some. As predicted, an hour later, he returned with buckets and spades and sweets for the girls – he would have walked to the next resort before giving up. Our girls happiness is his number one priority and I love that about him.

I truly believe there is someone out there for everyone and you can meet them anywhere or at any point of your life. A lot of people believe that if you haven’t met that someone special by a certain point then it will never happen. However, I don’t agree, the digital world we now live in opens up far more opportunities for those that really want to find love and, with maturity dating, age should no longer be a barrier.

So here’s to 13 years with my lovely man – my soulmate.

This is a collaboration post.

  1. Such a lovely story. I agree, it’s so much easier to meet the right person to in this day and age. I met my husband at work and it was hate at first sight. We were definitely destined to be married.

  2. I am so happy for you, you are such a beautiful persona who deserves love like this! We were 14 years married in May and your hubby reminds me of mine, he helps me with all the tech stuff and even brought me a laptop just because he thought I would like it, it is nice to have someone so great as a role model to our girls isn’t it! #MarvMondays

  3. Happy anniversary! My husband and I have been together for 12 years (although married for 6) and is amazing how time passes and someone becomes so fundamental to your life. Sounds like you’ve got a gem there! #MarvMondays

  4. Happy 13 years! My husband and I will celebrate our 12 year wedding anniversary this summer. I too have found the love of my life and I’m so thankful. Thanks for sharing!
